The Game
What is futsal?
Futsal is FIFA's official five-a-side indoor game. A low-bounce ball, hard court, no walls, and a running clock — every touch matters, every player is on the ball. It's the game that shaped Pelé, Ronaldinho, Messi, and Neymar.

Origins
A South American invention that took over the world.
1930
Montevideo, Uruguay
Teacher Juan Carlos Ceriani invents fútbol de salón — indoor five-a-side — at the YMCA, riding the wave of Uruguay's 1930 World Cup win.
1950s
São Paulo, Brazil
Brazilian coaches adopt the game and refine the rules. Kids grow up on hard courts perfecting close control, quick combinations, and one-touch play.
1989
Rotterdam, Netherlands
FIFA absorbs the sport and hosts the first official FIFA Futsal World Cup. Brazil wins the first three editions.
Today

The game shows up in gyms, community centres, and pro academies across the globe — including right here at Rim Park with PLF.
The Development Game
The academy the world's best grew up in.
Pelé, Zico, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Neymar — they all point to futsal as the game that shaped their touch, vision and decision-making. On a small court with little space and a heavier low-bounce ball, players are forced to think faster and control the ball cleaner. There's no hiding in the back line and no punting it long. Every player attacks, defends, and finishes.
The PLF Way
Bringing the authentic vibe to today's court.
A lot of "indoor soccer" in Canada is just outdoor with walls. That's not what we do. Premier League Futsal runs the real game — official FIFA futsal laws, a proper low-bounce ball, licensed referees, real standings for youth players, real playoffs. We built PLF to feel like a Saturday in São Paulo or a Sunday in Barcelona: passionate families in the stands, kids playing the way the greats did, and adults chasing that same small-sided magic. Fast, technical, honest football — the way it was invented.
