If your child just told you they want to play soccer and you landed here — you're in the right place. Futsal is the small-sided indoor version of the game, and it's one of the best ways for a beginner to fall in love with football. Here's what you need to know.
No experience needed. Just bring the excitement.
We've placed hundreds of first-time players — from shy 5-year-olds to teens picking up the game late. Everyone gets a jersey, a team, and a Saturday routine.
How it works
Four simple steps.

Register as a Free Agent
If your child doesn't have a team, that's totally fine. Email us and we'll place them on a team by age group under Waterloo County FC.

Get placed on a team
You'll hear from a coach with practice info, kit details, and their first match date. Kits are provided.
03
Show up Saturday
Match day is every Saturday at Rim Park. Younger age groups play in the morning, older ages later in the day.

Play. Cheer. Repeat.
Regular season into a playoff championship. Families in the stands, real matches, real fun.
My kid has never played before — is that okay?+
Yes. Most of our U8 and U9 players are brand new. Coaches are used to introducing the game, and futsal actually makes learning easier because every player gets more touches on the ball.
Is this soccer? What's different about futsal?+
It's soccer's five-a-side indoor cousin. Same rules of thumb — score more goals than the other team — but on a hard court with a smaller, low-bounce ball. No walls, no boards. Great for skill development.
What does my child need to bring?+
Comfortable athletic clothing, indoor court shoes (non-marking flats or futsal shoes), shin guards, and a water bottle. Kits are provided through the club.
How old does my child need to be?+
We run divisions from U8 (born 2019) through U16 (born 2010), plus an Open Division for adults born 2009 and up. Boys and girls divisions depending on registration numbers.
Where and when do matches happen?+
Every Saturday at Rim Park and select Waterloo Region school gyms. Fall 2026 runs October through mid-December.
What does it cost?+
Fees vary by age group and division. Reach out and we'll send exact pricing for your child's age band.
